How do I import my Interactive Brokers trades?

Use a Flex Query. In the IBKR Client Portal, open Performance & Reports, then Flex Queries, make an Activity Flex Query with the Trades section at Execution level, and save it. Then either paste the Flex token and Query ID into your tool, or download the report as XML and upload the file.
Interactive Brokers exports trades through Flex Queries, a report you set up once in the IBKR Client Portal. Most trading journals and review tools read the same report, either by pulling it with a token or by reading the file you download.
Set up the Flex Query
Sign in to the IBKR Client Portal. Open Performance & Reports, then Flex Queries. Under Activity Flex Queries, press the plus button to make a new query. Name it, open the Trades section, and set the level to Execution. Save the query, then copy your Flex web service token and the Query ID.
Pick Trades at execution level. Cash Transactions is a different report and holds no fills, which is the most common reason an import comes back empty.
Bring the trades in
By token. In Travise, paste the token and Query ID under Settings, then Connections. Travise pulls the report, pairs every fill into round trips, and checks for new trades once a day after that.
By file, when IBKR refuses the pull. Run the same query in Flex Queries with the format set to XML, download it, and upload it on the IBKR import page. It needs no token. IBKR generates a report once and then often refuses repeat requests for hours, and its Flex service is frequently unavailable at weekends, so a Saturday failure is usually their window rather than your setup.
Imports are free on every Travise plan, including the trial. Every imported trade can then be graded on entry, risk, thesis, management and discipline.
Why does IBKR keep refusing the pull?
IBKR generates a Flex report once and then often refuses repeat requests for hours, and its Flex service is frequently down at weekends. Download the same query as an XML file and upload it instead; that needs no token.
